Scientist Bioinformatics (NL)

 

Your job in a nutshell

The Scientist Bioinformatics will perform research, feasibility and development work for molecular diagnostic arrays, including microarrays and sequencing with the goal of improving existing and building new arrays. You are working with internationally renowned academic partners and SkylineDx’ multidisciplinary development team: scientists, lab technicians, study directors, software engineers and the QA/RA department. Furthermore, you will contribute in the preparation of assay registration files, scientific publications and presentations regarding the research you are performing. Together we ensure the validation and implementation of clinically relevant scientific discoveries into reliable medical diagnostic assays for diagnosis, prognosis and drug effectiveness prediction that will ultimately contribute to improved patient care.  

 

You have

  • a BSc, MSc or PhD degree in Bioinformatics or related field. We specifically encourage you to apply if you have a background in quantitative engineering.

  • relevant experience in oncology and genomics.

  • a track record in machine learning combined with programming skills (R, Matlab, Python, etc).

  • fundamental knowledge of statistics (required).

  • familiarity with survival analyses (pre).

  • a service and result-oriented attitude.

  • excellent communication and organization skills.

  • proven and adequate publication skills.

  • experience in high throughput assay design and analysis (pre).

  • intrinsic motivation to make a positive contribution to health care and provide solutions for patients.

  • strong analytical skills and creative approach to problem solving.

  • the ability to motivate the team and manage both internal and external collaborations.

  • an entrepreneurial mind-set and are able to work in an environment with high quality standards.

  • an excellent command in written and spoken English (required).
