Your job in a nutshell

The Customer Services Assistant support will closely work with and assist the Customer Service Associate in performing data entry of test requisition forms for clinical laboratory tests in a CLIA/CAP certified environment and prepare reports for review and approval according to established procedures. The Customer Service Assistant will also complete other tasks in support of the clinical laboratory, QA, and Operations. The customer Service Assistant will be performing work in our Offices in San Diego, California and reports to the Director of Operations.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Assists in performing data entry of test requisition forms for incoming specimens.

  • Keeps precise and clear documentation of all phone communications and follow up activities.

  • Train to all SOPs related to the job function and adhere to all rules and protocols.

  • Read and record temperature and humidity readings for the laboratory spaces.

  • Assists in performing receipt and QC inspection of incoming materials.

  • Performs monthly material inventory counts and maintain the material database.

  • Creates purchase orders for office and laboratory materials.

  • Supports QA and Document Control in assisting with printing and filing of QMS documents.

  • Distributes materials to all new and existing customers as requested.

  • Performs monthly laboratory cleanings and performing documentation in logs or forms, as required.

  • Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of personal information according to HIPPA guidelines.

  • Consistently and independently performs assigned tasks.

  • Effectively resolves common problems or able to check with group leaders when it is uncertain.

  • Recognizes and takes appropriate action in response to unusual or unexpected occurrences, and documents action taken.

  • Adheres to the company safety policies and supports a safe work environment.

  • Other duties as assigned by the department manager or lead.


Together we ensure the validation and implementation of clinically relevant scientific discoveries into reliable medical diagnostic assays for diagnosis, prognosis and drug effectiveness prediction that will ultimately contribute to improved patient care.  


You have

  • a high school diploma.

  • 1-3 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory environment (preferably).

  • demonstrated ability to clearly communication with peers, management, and clients.

  • proficient experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • experience of organizing and prioritizing an international, varied and busy workload, preferably already in high level administrative support.

  • the ability to multitask and take on various projects, working with self-discipline, good judgment, and independence in a dynamic office setting. Excellent verbal and written skills and attention to details.

  • strong analytical skills and creative approach to problem solving.

  • an entrepreneurial mind-set and are able to work in an environment with high quality standards.

  • an excellent command in written and spoken English.

  • a hands-on mentality and result oriented attitude.
