Your job in a nutshell
As a Biostatistician, you will be responsible for supporting, with your statistical expertise, the entire trajectory that goes from early discovery of new molecular signatures, possibly integrated with clinicopathologic variables, to their translation into clinically relevant and commercially viable assays, for diagnosis, prognosis and drug effectiveness prediction. You will have a leading role in the development and validation of clinical prediction models and their integration with molecular biomarkers, in the design of clinical studies, in sample size calculations, in selecting and implementing the most appropriate statistical methodologies for analytical and clinical validation studies.
Furthermore, you will develop new algorithms and methodologies, whenever off-the-shelf solutions are not available to address the problem at hand, and in support to product development, you will contribute to scientific publications, and presentations.
You will be working with internationally renowned academic partners and SkylineDx’ multidisciplinary development team. This is a full-time position that is based at our SkylineDx office in Rotterdam, and you can work according to a flexible scheme combining working at the office and from home.
Currently, we have a great team of close to 50 people in the Netherlands and 20 people working in the US. You will be responsible for helping us support this exceptional group of people and make future growth possible.
Together we ensure the validation and implementation of clinically relevant scientific discoveries into reliable medical diagnostic assays for diagnosis, prognosis and drug effectiveness prediction that will ultimately contribute to improved patient care.
a PhD degree in Biostatistics, or related quantitative disciplines (candidates with a MSc and equivalent work experience will be also considered).
a strong expertise in developing and validating clinical prediction models.
a solid experience in survival analyses, study design and sample size calculation.
the ability to understand and design (new) statistical machine learning algorithms.
coding skills in R, Python, bash.
a track record of high-quality research, including peer-reviewed publications.
strong analytical skills and creative approach to problem solving.
an excellent command in written and spoken English (pre).
a hands-on mentality and result oriented attitude.
an entrepreneurial mind-set and are able to work in an environment with high quality standards.
